A TALE OF TWO KINGS
A TALE OF TWO KINGS. Part one. 1samuel 17. David, a young poor humble shepherd, handpicked by God from the back side of the desert was made king over God's people. Not even when his father and the prophet tried to hide him did God forsake him. Same way, when its your turn to come out of obscurity and poverty, no one can hide you. (your amen is doubtful). Soon he began to conquer nations and subdue powers. It began to creep into his head. He did many more wonderful things: he killed Goliath, sang music to sooth king Saul, he wrote many songs and even prophesied about the birth of Christ. In fact, "he was a man after God's own heart". He was humble, forgiving and very romantic too, you know. All the above not withstanding, DAVID SINNED AGAINST GOD. He was an adulterer, and to top it up, he murdered and went ahead to marry the wife of the man he killed!!! You know the rest. There are instances where David even lied! How on earth could such a person still be a man after Gods own heart? Does God take delight in SIN? NO!!! But, man, DAVID HAD A DIFFERENT ATTITUDE. when the prophet Nathan pointed out his sin to him, he repented. He sought forgiveness. David, like every other man after God's heart always admits his errors, mistakes and offences and quickly apologises. David never seeks justifications for his actions, neither does he look for others to blame it on nor gets angry at the man who points out his flaws to him. He quickly seeks forgiveness and corrects them. At the work place, the Davids are always the favorites of their bosses and the envy of their colleagues. At church, they don't miss honour from their leaders. in marriage, their spouses don't stop testifying of them. If you were used to defending and arguing your points before reading this post, BE LIKE DAVID. By Yao. E. Agbenyo. Www.yaoagbenyo.blogspot.com www.facebook.com/yafinc Please share. Don't edit.
